Jill Collins

Jill began dancing at age 3 in her small hometown of New Castle, PA and hasn’t stopped since!  Early on, she realized she had a true passion for teaching dance and began assisting classes at her local dance studio.  Jill’s thirst for dance education lead her to The University of the Arts of Philadelphia, PA where she earned her BFA in Dance Education with a concentration in Modern Dance.  Jill also holds an Associate Degree from Dance Masters of America Teachers Training program, a 4 year program designed to create well-rounded dance educators.  Besides her certification in ballet, jazz and modern, Jill studied nutrition, dance history, anatomy, kinesiology, musical theater, rhythm for dancers, yoga, and Pilates.  Jill has also completed levels I-V of the Cecchetti (Italian) method of ballet.  While living in Philadelphia she worked with the Martha Graham Company, Group Motion Dance Company, and she performed with Underground Dance Works and Philadanco’s 2nd company, D2.  In 2007, Jill moved to Los Angeles where she currently performs with the Sahlala Dancers, an International Dance Company  She is also a member of the original Bellydance Evolution cast, a touring theatrical middle eastern dance show.
